“This has been a life changing experience for me.”
— Debo Mouloudji - Resident Artist 2018

77ART is  host to an artist residency program, which is held during the summer months. The residency is self-directed and designed to give emerging artists time and space to create new works and expand their practice. Our studios represent a variety of shapes and sizes and their proximity allows for the right balance of privacy and community. There are no requirements that artists complete projects during their stay at 77ART, however the residency will culminate in an exhibition of resident work. Our emphasis is on community outreach and artists should come prepared to interact with the public during open studios and be present at events throughout the residency period.

This year we are offering several residency options:

  1. Full Residency Program:

A month long program where residents have time and space in their studios. Throughout the month 77ART hosts events— Artist talks, workshops, studio visits and shared lunches. This year’s sessions are scheduled for the months of June, August, and October.

  2. Work-Exchange Fellowship Program:

The work-exchange fellowship program is a two month program which starts in tandem with the full residency program. For the first month fellows participate in the full residency program and then continue to have access to their studio for the following month when residency is not in session.

It’s a unique opportunity to get to know a community on an extremely intimate level… It felt like going to hang out with family members— just the level of warmth coming from the people who came to meet us.”
